Getting ready for Weaning

Read online that many Sep mummies are already starting their babies on solids. Initially I was very excited too, to the extend we bought the Avent steamer cum blender months before baby Kara was due!

After hearing so much about what other mummies are feeding their babies, I just want to start right!

Since Gerald & I are both inexperience about weaning & didn't want to just follow some old wives tales, we joined a weaning class at the NHG polyclinic. Very useful for new parents like us!

Baby Kara snoozing in her first class!

Daddy is totally clueless so his job is just to entertain Baby Kara.

Busy juggling work & Baby Kara

Both Gerald & I have been very busy at work lately which means the little time left to play & interact with Baby Kara before she turns in is really precious!

1st Beach Outing

Judging by the big smile on her face, Baby Kara loves the beach too.

We let down the stroller canopy & she was enjoying the breeze & trees.

Yummy dinner at the food centre (also a first for Baby Kara) & she KO at the end of the beach outing.

2nd week of work

2nd week & work load is picking up. Starting to get blocked ducts probably due to short pumping sessions. :( I'm working on a new company setup in India so it's going to be very exciting but hectic till at least July. Gerald has been working till late over the last 2 weeks too.

Baby Kara is always happy to see us :) On Thurs, even waiting up for mummy as I'm late from working OT.

Officially a working Mum!

Started working on 3rd Jan & before the week ended, I was feeling so tired. Really not easy being a full time working mum while breastfeeding.

Our typical routine goes like this..
- Wake up at 5+ for early am pump followed by morning workout (jog or weights training).
- Wake baby Kara up at 6.45am for her latch-on breakfast followed by her morning bathe.
- My shower & prep while daddy "entertain" baby Kara.
- Gerald will leave house earlier ard 8am while I'll latch-on baby Kara for another 15mins before dropping baby Kara & our helper at either my mum's or in-laws house.

By the time I reach office on the 2nd day, I was already tired. :(
Not too busy this week but the 2 pump sessions during office hours were already a hassle.

By the 4th day, I'm already missing my pumping session due to extended meetings and having to eat packed lunch to catch up with the pumping.

Rushing to drop & pick up baby Kara amidst the heavy traffic also adds on to the stress.

Despite these challenges, looking forward to playing with Baby Kara at night.

Luckily baby Kara is real smiley & her smile melt our hearts.

Good start to 2011

Last week of 2010 & my maternity leave went by sooooo quickly. Was in & out of house & spending some private time out with Gerald to celebrate our 4 years wedding anniversary while baby Kara is grounded at home cos everywhere is too crowded to bring her.

Had a good start to the year with trekking at Bukit Timah with Gerald (something we used to do regularly at one point b4 baby Kara came onboard), followed by spa session at Sentosa.

I must admit I haven't felt so relaxed for a long time.
