First gift for Baby

Gerald's dad got a big present for our baby. A limited edition gold, silver & copper Tiger coin set.. Was so touched by his generousity. Our baby is indeed very blessed. :)

Feeling Pampered II

Gerald is really sweet. Reach home to find him cooking again.

Nowadays my appetite is really good, I had 2 portions of the fried rice together with steam egg, cod fish & karage chicken.

After a hearty meal, I was already sleeping on the couch before he finished all the washing.

Weekday Treat

When you are pregnant, it's really a treat to have dinner outside followed by a late movie on a weekday, especially if it's a Tuesday.

We heard so much about Ippudo so decided to give it a try.

The ramen is awesome! Too expensive though. 2 bowls of ramen plus 3 chicken wing (mid joint only) cost $60+

Feeling Pampered

For 2 days in a row last week, I reached home to find Gerald painstakingly whipping up a sumptuous meal for myself & bb.

There's steam ginger chicken, steam egg, tomato fish & oyster veg.

Dinner was ready by the time I came out from the shower & he did ALL the washing as well. Cooking skills could be enhanced but he certainly scored 110 marks for the effort.

Shopping for Ideas

Headed to Ikea for ideas to dress up our future baby room.
Looking forward to buying our first item for the baby... Hopefully it would be a very nice baby cot. :)

Hidden Talent

I loved fruits, especially fresh sour oranges. In the past, I'm always the one doing the cutting & peeling into easy-to-eat bite sizes while Gerald gets to enjoy the fruits of my labour.

Nowadays, Gerald does everything while I just get ready to tuck in. He cuts the oranges into chunky pieces that looks & taste better. Talk about hidden talent..

First Gynae Visit

Managed to get an earlier appointment slot with my gynae Dr Jocelyn Wong who is based in TMC.

Saw the bb's heartbeat! It's only 3mm big & estimated 6 weeks 1 day +/- 4d. EDD is 12-09-2010.

Was thinking that it's already 8 weeks since my last menses was on 21 Nov 2009. Now I have to wait another 6 weeks before the end of first trimester!

Being Pampered

Mum specially made bird nest for me on Sun. Though not very yummy (not sweet enough), it certainly made me feel pampered.

Emotional Weekend

Maybe it's the hormones working, I felt emo on both Sat & Sun morning for really lame reasons.

Sat when Gerald refused to let me walk from home to ECP food Centre to join my cycling frens for drinks (it's just 4km & I used to be able to run much much longer), I just started to act like a cry baby.

Eventually I took a cab to ECP MacDonalds to buy breakfast before walking to the food centre.

Meeting up with cycling buddies.
Sun when we started to argue over the budget for car, I just cried & cried there & then at the food centre (something I would never do in the past).

After the initial excitement, maybe I'm starting to feel lost. Luckily as I read the pregnancy book, realised that such mood swings are very very common & NORMAL.

No more shopping!

My waistline is getting bigger! Not sure if it's from the pregnancy or all the eating during 3 weeks NZ vacation.. Wahaha

Passed by Zara this afternoon & decided to head in to checkout their shoes on sales. Chance upon a pair of pencil pants, in a style that I've been searching for the longest time!

Decided to be prudent & picked size 38 (2 sizes bigger than my usual 34), thinking that if it's loose now, it could last me througout the 9 months.

Reality hits hard when the 38 fit me just nice with nil room for expansion. *horrors* And this is just the beginning...

Sharing The News

Told my parents that very night and they were soooo excited!  Started giving ideas on what food to avoid, how they can help take care of the baby... felt a bit bombarded but nonetheless could feel their love for us.

We told Gerald's parent today and they were more cool which was quite surprising to me.

Gynae appointment is almost 4 weeks later and by then it should be end of first trimester! As we didn't want to announce The News before the appt,  feels like such a long wait to keep The News amongst us.

Waijia was the first friend to know, I had to tell her today as she's flying off in 2 more days time.  She was beaming with joy when I told her The News.  Felt much better to be able to talk to someone about it.  I'm excited but at the same time jittery about what parenting entails.

The News

After 2 tests & a visit to RMG, it's confirmed!
Gerald was jumping around in joy and smiling from ear to ear.

Turned out it's been 52 days (7 weeks plus) from the start of my last menses and i didn't feel a thing at all.  Without knowing, we did plenty of adventurous activities while on our NZ holidays.. river boarding, glacier walk, cycling, jogging, bridge climb, luge! Luckily everything went well.

Has been eating lots during the vacation and thought I was greedy as usual.  First craving since The News was chocolate milk that very night.  Gerald made hot milo which was good enough to ease my craving & bring me to deep slumber.
